The short version: you can play without an account, and then your progress stays on your device. If you choose to sign in, we keep your email address, the name you pick and your game results, so your progress follows you and you can join the leagues. There are no adverts and no cookies, and we never sell your data.
Playing without an account
To remember your results, streaks, mini-leagues and settings, the games save small notes in your browser's local storage (the names start with scoreboard:). This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
Because it's stored in your browser, it doesn't move between devices, and it's lost if you clear your browser's data for this site.
Checking answers
The answers aren't stored in the website. When you answer, your choice is sent to our server, which says whether it's right. If you're not signed in, nothing about you is kept.
If you sign in
Accounts are optional. When you sign in, we keep:
- Your email address, so we can send your sign-in codes. We don't show it to anyone or send you marketing.
- The name you choose. It appears in league tables and to anyone in your friends' leagues, so don't use your full real name.
- The answers you give, so the server can check them and work out your results fairly. Your first answer to each question on a day is the one that counts.
- Your game results and saved progress (the same things the games save on your device), so they follow you between devices and count towards the weekly cups and monthly leagues. Your results feed the league tables everyone can see, shown under your chosen name.
- The friends' leagues you start or join.
We use this only to run your account, the leagues and the trophy room. We keep it until you delete your account.
Who stores it: accounts and data are stored by Supabase on servers in London. Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. Your browser keeps a sign-in token in local storage (not a cookie) so you stay signed in.
Your rights: you can change your name or delete your account, and everything stored with it, at any time from your trophy room. Under UK data protection law you can also ask for a copy of your data, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies and analytics
We don't use cookies, adverts or advertising trackers.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit and which pages they open. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, doesn't follow you across other websites, and doesn't tell us who you are. We only see totals, like "120 people played Red Clock today".
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, their servers see technical details such as your IP address when your device loads a page. They use these to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use this information to identify you.
Delete your saved data
This button deletes every result, streak, league and setting saved on this device, and signs you out here. It can't be undone. It doesn't touch your account: to delete that, use your trophy room.
Changes
If we start collecting anything new, we'll update this page first and explain what and why.
